Counseling Trainee

Overview:

The traineeship is intended to provide Counselors with practical experience in Sambhavya’s project School and settings where counseling services are offered. The trainee position offers a crucial pathway to future employment at Sambhavya.

The traineeship experience also provides evaluative feedback on trainees’ knowledge, attitudes, skills with specific client populations in relevant settings and supports the promotion of school mental health programs and services of Sambhavya Foundation through outreach, assessment, and delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivering School Mental Health Program and providing counseling services using his/her competencies and professional knowledge in respective assigned schools;
Working with students in individual, small group and classroom settings;
Collaborating with teachers, parents and school administration/management to ensure school mental health and counseling program meet school’s goals;
Coordinating with other team members for overall success and delivery of the program;
Assisting in modification of School Mental Health and Counseling Program’s framework;
Timely reporting to the concerned personnel/department;
Performing other related work as required

REQUIREMENT AND SKILLS:

Master’s in Psychology/Counseling Psychology completed will be given priority;
Minimum 3-6 months experience in the field of psychosocial counseling. Freshers with prior training in School counseling will be given high priority;
Knowledge of counseling and mental health/mental health issues;
The candidate must have a passion towards people, be able to listen empathetically and be patient while dealing with adverse situation;
The candidate must have proper communication skills and be open to accepting responsibilities while working in a team;
Creative and innovative enough to discuss and bring new ideas to the counselors’ team;
The candidate must be enthusiastic towards working with children and adolescents;
