The School Mental Health and Counseling Program under the mission of “One School One Counselor” was initiated through Project Melamchi in the year 2018. The project started with the orientation programs in schools of Melamchi. After the success of orientation programs at Pragati English Secondary School, Melamchi, the school administration requested for an annual School Mental Health and Counseling Program. Thus, a formal mental health program within the school system was initiated by mobilizing counselors at the school.
In 2019, the annual school mental health and counseling Program in two more schools; Shree Terse Secondary School, Talamarang and Shree Jalapadevi Secondary School, Bahunepati was formally started. In 2021, Sambhavya Foundation conducted Flood Relief Program and Psychological First Aid (PFA) targeting the affected population due to Flood in Melamchi region. Besides, 1-day mental health orientation program at Shree Janajagriti Secondary School, katunje was conducted successfully.
Sambhavya Foundation aims to extend our School Mental Health and Counseling Program in Sindhupalchowk region through Project Sindhupalchowk.
