Sambhavya Foundation initiated a long-term program; School Mental Health Program under the mission of “One School One Counselor” which imagines at least one counselor in each of the 35,000 schools (approx.) in Nepal. As of January 2022, the program has been successfully running in 21 schools throughout Kathmandu Valley, Sindhupalchowk, Rupandehi and, Baglung District. Sambhavya Foundation has been providing School Mental Health and counseling services by mobilizing at least one counselor under this program.
Sambhavya Foundation primarily focuses on school mental health services that involve psycho-education, training programs, group counseling, individual counseling, teachers-counselors workshops, parenting workshops and consultations. Sambhavya Foundation deals with psychological, behavioral, academic and relationship issues in students that are or might caused by anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies, phobias, compulsive behaviors, deviant or defiant behaviors. Sambhavya Foundation will mobilize a counselor in the school who is responsible to ensure a trustful environment is created that encourages students to openly express about their thoughts and emotional problems and work with the school management in creating and implementing effective plans to reduce problems, increase productivity and provide awareness.
Sambhavya Foundation has been recognizing itself as a pioneering organization in promoting school mental health. It is majorly concerned with mental health awareness and psycho-social well being directly among school going students.
