Transforming School Mental Health for Nepal’s Next Generation with Accessible, Comprehensive, and Sustainable Programs Since 2018. We believe every child deserves the chance to thrive—emotionally, socially, and academically. By working with entire schools and communities, we bring hope, break down barriers, and help build strong, resilient young minds. Together, we ensure that no child or family is left behind on the path to well-being.
Since its establishment in 2018, Sambhavya Foundation has been at the forefront of transforming school mental health in Nepal. During the time that concept of mental health was barely acknowledged and often a taboo topic, Sambhavya took the initiative to advocate for and raise awareness on mental health. We overcame these barriers and advanced conversations which made it possible for mental health to be an integral component of the school ecosystem.
As a pioneering organization, we remain dedicated to providing comprehensive, free, and quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and school communities across the country. As part of our community-centered approach, we go beyond urban areas such as Kathmandu and address urgent needs in remote areas in the region with critical shortages of child and adolescent mental health services by providing vital psychosocial support and mental health literacy.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 4 (Quality Education), our program includes mental health literacy, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), mental health camps, awareness workshops, advocacy, and capacity-building training aimed at students, parents, teachers, caregivers, community leaders, and local leadership. Through these sustained efforts, we have helped foster resilient, emotionally healthy communities and ensured that mental health support is now recognized as a fundamental and sustainable part of Nepal’s education system.
